Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 16, 2026

StudyLab is designed to keep your school-planning data private and understandable. This policy explains what StudyLab version 1.0 stores, where it is stored, and which Apple services it uses.

1. Information you enter into StudyLab

You may enter information such as homework and test titles, subjects, due dates, notes, estimated and completed work time, subtasks, flashcards, revision plans, class schedules, schedule exceptions, theme choices and focus preferences.

2. Local storage

StudyLab’s main schoolwork database is stored locally on your device. StudyLab also uses Apple-provided device storage such as UserDefaults and Keychain for app preferences and limited feature state, including theme/focus settings and the start date of a Pro trial.

3. Optional iCloud backup

If you use the StudyLab Pro iCloud backup feature, StudyLab creates a compact backup of supported StudyLab data in your private iCloud account using Apple’s iCloud key-value storage. StudyLab does not operate its own cloud server for this backup. Apple’s iCloud services process that data under your Apple Account and Apple’s terms and privacy practices.

4. In-App Purchases

StudyLab Pro purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. StudyLab checks Apple-provided purchase entitlements to determine whether Pro is unlocked. StudyLab does not receive or store your full payment-card information.

5. Notifications

If you allow notifications, StudyLab can schedule local deadline and focus-completion alerts on your device. Notification permission can be changed in iOS Settings.

6. Advertising, analytics and tracking

StudyLab version 1.0 does not include third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, cross-app tracking, or data-broker integrations. StudyLab does not sell your personal information to advertisers.

7. Accounts

StudyLab version 1.0 does not require a StudyLab account or login.

8. Data sharing

StudyLab does not send your schoolwork database to a StudyLab-operated server. Data may be processed by Apple when you choose to use Apple services such as iCloud, StoreKit, or system notifications.

9. Retention and deletion

Local StudyLab data remains on your device until you delete or change it, remove the app, or otherwise erase the app’s local data. If you use iCloud backup, the backup is stored through your iCloud account rather than on a StudyLab-operated server. Your use of iCloud and the retention of iCloud-stored information are also subject to Apple’s iCloud settings and policies.

10. Privacy choices

You can choose not to enable notifications or iCloud backup. You can manage notification permission in iOS Settings. StudyLab Pro’s iCloud backup is an explicit feature and is not silently enabled for the main local database.

11. Changes to this policy

If StudyLab’s data practices materially change in a future version, this policy will be updated to describe those changes.

12. Contact

This policy describes the current StudyLab 1.0 implementation. App Store privacy disclosures should be kept consistent with the app’s actual behavior whenever the app changes.
